Texas - Workshops and Evaluations

     WORKSHOPS AND EVALUATIONS

Ratings and commentary from workshop evaluation reveal that participants were generally enthusiastic about their sessions.

The following is the schedule of workshops and trainers employed:

  • First workshop-June 13,1998, Edinburg High School. Trainer: Nette Nelson, 85 surveys tabulated. Second workshop-July 18,1998, Edcouch. Trainer: Susan Blood and Patrick Finn. 71 surveys tabulated.
  • Third workshop-August 15,1998, LaVilla. Trainer: Edwin Nelson and Annalisa Raymer. 59 surveys tabulated.
  • Fourth workshop-September 19, 1998. The survey followed a custom format; Karen Prentiss was apparently the only trainer. 65 surveys returned.
  • Fifth workshop-November21.1998, San Carlos. Trainer: Alma Jadallah. 78 surveys tabulated.
  • Sixth workshop-January 9,1999, Echo. Trainer: AlmaJadallah. 98 surveys tabulated.

The most frequently reported answer on all surveys was five on a 5 point scale. Written commentary also supports the idea that Texas Cluster participants were happy with all aspects of the MIRA workshop series.

Evaluation Process

Master copies of evaluation forms were delivered to the Cluster evaluation representative. Copies were distributed to all participants at each Cluster meeting. Participants were asked to answer questions regarding arrangements, technology demonstration sessions, and primary sessions delivered by MIRA trainers.

Forms were returned to the Heartland Center for Leadership Development for processing. Numerical data were scanned and mechanically tabulated using specialized computer software. Written commentary was evaluated thematically, summarized and reported.
