Framework Activities Continuum: To effect the change your group wishes to see, community-based, collective leadership becomes a continuous process of building trust, planning, acting together and making the work a way of life. The diagram below is a representation of how the four stages in the Collective Leadership Framework are interrelated, and how the four basic elements apply to each stage. Each underlined phrase is a link to an activity or group of activities designed to help you stay active in and focused on the project your group wants to accomplish. If your group is just starting their collective leadership community project, we encourage you to begin with the trust building exercises so that you can create an atmosphere of open communication, which may help you sustain your relationships throughout the duration of the project and beyond.

To use the diagram, determine the stage at which your group is currently involved. Then, based on the element you are trying to achieve, select the appropriate underlined phrase. Read through the example below before using the diagram.
